I hate that I'm even having to post this, but I need help. I have PTSD-related seizures, and I'm doing everything to pay my multiplying medical bills, but it's becoming impossible. I got fired from my job because I can't work with my seizures, and I've lost my insurance. I've sold my car for extra cash, but it's not enough. I can't do this by myself anymore.. Okay, so when i say, all the best people are crazy, I am in no way glorifying/ romanticizing mental illness, i was referencing the song in which it says 'All the best people are crazy'.
Also, as she was wearing a sugar skull get up and is (well i don't think she is) not Mexican, she is therefore, appropriating.
Also, please forgive me if i offended you by using the ableist slur cr*zy (it was not my intention)

I understand that, but some people can be offended very easily and that is the point I was trying to make. It's okay, and I understand.
However, I've spoken to this girl. She's going to school to be an actress and is practicing makeup. With that said, she was given assistance for a project that required her to do so. She's proud of what she's going to school for and is showing her passion. Just as you had no intention of offending me with the slur, I'm sure she had no intention of offending anyone with her makeup. I suppose that what I'm trying to say is maybe asking what the reason behind someone's makeup and/or costume is before assuming they're appropriating for no reason is a better approach than just accusing someone of doing so. That would be like saying cosplayers are appropriating by dressing up as characters from the Japanese culture that originally created anime and manga.
